The Prompt
This was a design language study that focused on the EV/automotive space. I was tasked to choose a car manufacturer that currently has an electric vehicle in its lineup and design an EV charging system for it. The design must carry the same design language of the chosen brand or car. It must also use the correct charger connector for the vehicle it will charge.
Skills Involved
- Ideation
- 3D CAD Modelling: SolidWorks

- 3D Printing
- Brand Language Understanding
Inspiration
I decided to choose the Lotus Evija to based my design off of. The Evija is Lotus' first fully electric hypercar that makes 2000 horsepowers and so it deserves an equally exciting bespoke charging system.
Design Language Analysis
By going through images of the Evija, I can start to dissect the various design elements of the car and form a direction for my charger design.
Renders
I 3D modeled my design in SolidWorks and brought them in KeyShot to create a high-quality renders of the product.
This is purely an conceptual exercise and not meant to represent the Lotus brand in any capacity.
